The Magic of Monarchs

The Magic of Monarchs — Sunday, June 22, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., Waterford. Join Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy as we partner with the Waterford Foundation and Waterford Citizens Association to bring you a talk about the amazing Monarch butterfly! As we gather together, Monarchs will be migrating back from Mexico, starting to repopulate the United States. With the Monarch population reaching an unprecedented low this year, this migration is in peril but we can help Bring Back the Monarch and Keep the Magic Alive! Learn about their habitat needs and life cycle and how to plant Monarch waystations, and look for eggs and caterpillars that you can raise. Following the talk, we’ll take a walk to the Phillips Farm to see through a Monarch’s eyes the bounty of host and nectar plants offered there. Location: John Wesley Church, Bond Street, Waterford. Questions: Contact Nicole Hamilton at nhamilton@loudounwildlife.org.
