Conservation, Sustainability & Spirituality

Conservation, Sustainability & Spirituality — Saturday, June 14, 10:00 a.m. – noon, Morven Park. Join Dr. Sylvia Vitazkova and Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy members to explore our spiritual connection to nature and how nature sustains us, even as we work to sustain nature. This experiential and participatory program will open with a centering practice and yoga movements accessible to all, and a sharing by participants around what spirituality means to each of us. The program will continue with an overview of how nature and spirituality connect and how ethics underpin conservation biology, and a brief look at how some major religious and spiritual traditions are being reinterpreted in a “green” manner. The program will conclude with an exploration of how we can use these insights to promote conservation in our community and how to nourish ourselves and remain resilient in the face of environmental “bad news.” Appropriate for adults. Please wear clothing that is comfortable and allows freedom of movement, and bring a yoga mat or large towel/blanket on which to sit and lie down. Registration required: Sign Up OnlineQuestions: Contact Jill Miller atjmiller@loudounwildlife.org.
